Productinformation

Antirrhinum majus, Snapdragon Pink flower seeds
No flower garden is complete without snapdragons. We love to see bees completely disappearing inside the flowers. Snapdragons come in many colors but this soft pink is definitely a favorite. Plants are easy to grow from seed and the flowers are fantastic in bouquets. This variety is a special cut flower type with strong long stems. Because the stems become so tall you have to support them with netting. If you want to them as low-maintenance garden plants I would recommend the madame butterfly snapdragons because the stems are less tall and the plants are growing more branched.

How to grow Snapdragon Pink from seed
Snapdragons have probably the tiniest seeds of all! Difficult to sow I have to admit but very rewarding. Because the seeds are so small and they need light to germinate I never cover the seeds. You can start seeds in the autumn if your winter is mild or in early spring in seed trays in a greenhouse polytunnel or window sill. The plants are half-hardy and can be planted out in late spring. due to the heavy tall stems, plants need support. Snapdragons will continually flower as long as you remove the dead flowers. You can cut them back deep into the plant and new shoots will appear just below where you cut the dead stems. Snapdragons are fantastic cut flowers. Pick the stems when the first few flowers are opening and strip most of the foliage. We have had stems lasting up to two weeks! The tips of the flowers are searching for light so you have to store plants straight otherwise you get very strange bent stems!
